Fantastic place!
little remote and nice bit pricey
Beautiful cottages, lovely swimming pool and great location for North Norfolk coast.
A great place to escape with the family whatever the weather!!We recently spent the weekend staying at Cranmer Cottages, to take a well-deserved rest from the hustle and bustle of normality. We choose Cranmer because we wanted to explore North Norfolk and it seemed quite centrally located. We also really liked the look of the cottages as they seemed homely, welcoming and beautifully furnished and loved that there are so many facilities available on site to use including a games room, indoor swimming pool, tennis courts plus a play area for my 3 year old daughter to enjoy too. When we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome by the site manager who gave us a tour around the facilities and the cottage too. The cottage was immaculately clean, very warm (which was a big bonus during a very cold March!) and it felt really cosy. What I really liked was that I immediately felt at home and very relaxed and so did my husband and daughter. What struck me during our stay was how well thought out the cottage and facilities are for families. Our daughter loved the fact there was crockery and cutlery for her, plus there were a number of childrens books to read and DVD's available to watch. She loved getting up each morning and starting the day with a swim in the indoor pool and the games room offered endless entertainment with her attempts of playing table tennis and exploring the basket full of toys that was also available to rummage through. Sadly, because it rained throughout the weekend, she didnt get an opportunity to explore the play area but I know it would have given her hours of entertainment if we had been luckier with the weather. Seeing as our break was in March, we didnt have too many expectations with the weather, but that didnt dampen our spirits as we still found loads to do. On site, the pool was a great facility to use. Every morning wed hop across the courtyard for an energetic swim, which set us up for the day. Whats great about the pool is that its treated with salt rather than chlorine so its great for anyone who suffers with skin problems as its much friendlier for the skin. When exploring North Norfolk we took a stroll around Sandringham Gardens and had a look around Hunstanton. We found some fantastic boutique shops in Wells-next-the-Sea and Burnham Market, plus we enjoyed a wander around Holkham Halls grounds and browsed around their shops too. There are so many things we could have done, but it was too much of a challenge to squeeze in so much in such a short space of time. The owners recommended a few local places to eat and we certainly weren't let down by the choices we made. The food at the Jolly Farmers pub in North Creake was lovely and they were brilliant accommodating kids in the evening. We also had a fantastic meal the following evening at The Orange Tree in Thornham, which is also very child friendly. At the end of each day it was great to retreat back to our cottage to put our feet up, relax and sleep in one of the comfiest beds Ive ever slept in!There is so much to do in North Norfolk, even when the weather is cold and dreary. A couple of nights away at Cranmer helped us recharge our batteries and we felt very refreshed when we returned home. I highly recommend staying at Cranmer to anyone who is looking for a break where you can completely relax. North Norfolk really does offer something for everyone. Theres lots of countryside and coastline to explore and enjoy, plus there are a several nature reserves, which are bursting with wildlife throughout the year. The towns and villages are full of galleries, boutique shops and great places to eat and there are also plenty of family friendly attractions to visit too. We will definitely be coming back again!
